Philosophy

The essence of Acupuncture and Chinese medical philosophy goes beyond the mere treatment of symptoms. It is a system that addresses the deeper, core causes of imbalance that lead to symptoms. The human being is seen as a fully integrated expression of physical, emotional, psychological and spiritual existence. Transformation occurs when all aspects are being addressed.

A major component of this Acupuncture practice is rooted in the concept of “the alchemy of awareness”. By actively engaging the capacity to implement our inner witness, an aspect of our higher selves, in all of our experiences, including those of wellness and of dis-ease, we gain the capacity to become consciously present within the many paradigms of our lives and therefore able to support healing on the deepest of levels. When patterns of pain and illness are addressed as they are within this approach to Acupuncture treatment, a potential shift in awareness and therefore chemistry occurs in the body-mind-spirit system, facilitating the process off internal alchemy, moving us into increased capacity for health and a deep sense of well being.

"Mimi is my go to person when I feel out of sorts. Whether it’s a cold, travel fatigue, insomnia or my basic aches and pains-I always feel her treatments put me on the path of recovery. Mimi has a great understanding of western medicine that compliments her acupuncture practice. She is my “healer” of choice."
